Lyme Australia Recognition & Awareness (LARA) Store
Welcome to the Lyme Australia Recognition and Awareness online store.
Awareness shirts were first made available on Café Press in 2014.
For the first few years of awareness, all associated costs have been paid by myself. This includes various websites and awareness projects, as well as costs to organise and attend protests events in Brisbane and Sydney.
A very big thank you goes out to Jessie Rose for her idea of beginning the LARA store (not only to get the word out there about Lyme, but also to fund the various websites and awareness projects I undertake). While Jessie was going to take on this initiative, a health setback required her to focus on her health. I was able to start the stores and put some awareness shirts onto Café Press in time for May - International Lyme Awareness Month and will have started putting up products on Zazzle as of November 2014.
Update: It has been my choice for the last few years to self-fund websites, awareness brochures, events etc., however, with my relapse and extra medical costs I am unable to continue with this at the present time. Any monies raised from this store will go towards keeping the websites active, however awareness stalls and attending awareness events is currently on hold as all personal funds will now be directed towards treatment costs.
Whilst I will be mainly advertising Lyme Awareness designs, I will also be doing a few various "silly" shirt designs in order to raise some extra funds for treatment costs, which for just the basic IV treatment (I have a PICC - Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter) at the moment is around $300/week.
(See below for a little more information on this and the T-shirt designs developed.
